The AC/DC printed patches hae always been popular - 2nd in popularity to the woven patches. I think it is because many of the printed designs were never made available on the woven ones though, of course, the woven patch is a superior technique.
To me both the printed and woven patches are little works of art. I started collecting them not to put on a jacket (unusual I know) but because I just liked the look of them. They captured the design or typography of an album release or whatever release in a way no other format could come close to. Ok, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
AC/DC have always been a visually stunning group. Leave the music aside, the visual look of their release are now iconic.
The patch perfectly captures that iconography.
