Antony Gormley is most famous for his Angel of the North (1994-98), a public sculpture in Gateshead. The power and strength of the North East is captured perfectly in this piece. To see it for the first time is an almost Holy experience!
He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, the Central School of Art, Goldsmiths College and the Slade School of Art.
He uses moulds from his own body for his sculptures.
