FILIPPINO LIPPI

Filippino Lippi was born to parents both in Holy Orders. He began as a painter at an early age, trained by his father, Fra Filippo Lippi and assisting him in his work. When his father died when he was only 12 years old, Fillipino completed the frescoes in the Spoleto Cathedral.
Botticelli had also been a pupil of his father, and Filippino completed his apprenticeship in the workshop of the great master.
