Below are just a few images from Jennifer Ehle's career.
She is best known for her film and TV work. Highlights for me are, of course, Pride & Prejudic which now is just iconic in British television. You know something is good and iconic when it has been parodied so much and everything in the same fame since is a kind of parody. But I would venture that she was even better in The Camomile Lawn, an extraorinarily engrossing drama which grips from start to finish. With such a stellar cast of great British actors she more than holds her own.
There has also been theater work. She was seen in Tartuffe in the West End and has performed as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company in such roles as Lady Anne in Richard III, Amanda in The Relapse, and Serafina in The Painter of Dishonour.
Feb. 15: Well, it's official. Time really does fly. Ehle is now hitting the screens in the UK in the much hyped Fifty Shades of Grey as Carla, 'Ana's rather absent but loveable mother'. Lordy, it seems like just yesterday when she was playing the beautiful young things in Pride & Prejudice: Keepsake Edition, The Camomile Lawn and This Year's Love [Region 2]. Time passing, time spent and all that.
It's a great time to catch her in her career. Great actresses come to their peak in their 40s and 50s if they can find the roles and she is a great actress. Catch her in this movie though for I'm sure she'll be head and shoulders above the rest.
