I bought a few of these charming and delicious pieces from the same dealer just because I loved the whimisical works. Curious to find out more about them I contacted the dealer who gave me more info which I have copied in below:
"The paintings are all recent, but the frames are old, usually from mid-1800s to 1920s and Bridgid Blood is alive and well, living near the English/Welsh borders.
We recently sold a collection that we bought last year in Wales which went so well (average over £200 each), that we decided to find an artist who could paint in the same style, using the same subject themes, but not to actually copy the originals.
To make sure none of these are confused with the originals, which were all unsigned, these new ones all carry the signature B. Blood."
These really are beautiful paintings and at an affordable price for unique pieces.
