Elephant Spatial was cast in bronze in 1980... It has a green patina to make the bronze appear aged. The bronze on the tusk has been highly polished for emphasis. The base is made of marble and the pyramid on the top is made from plexiglas. Elephant Spatial was not the first statue of the elephant that Dali made. . Clear, concise, great repros of the key works, it's a joy because it is written in an understandable way. By that I mean you actually learn about how the works came into being and not a critic's pretentious examination of a work which just gives his or her's subjective viewpoint. I learnt more from this book on Dali's work than any other book I have found.
