Pedro Berruguete was a Castilian
painter, father of Alonso. He worked in Avila,
in Toledo cathedral and as court painter to
Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain. A tradition that
he studied in Urbino, Italy, is supported by the
style of some of his pictures.
