      • Known as: Italian Early Renaissance painter

      • Date of death: October 12, 1492, Borgo San Sepolcro



    • Piero della Francesca executed most of his work in the town of Arezzo. Before he was 20, he was working with Domenico Veneziano on frescoes for the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova in Florence. Other places he worked in were Rome, Rimini and Ferrara.

      He was also known as a mathematician and towards the end of his life he wrote a mathematical treatise, De prospectiva pingendi.
