to be honest I couldn't give an exact date when it was reproduced. the dealer I got this off said this poster was reproduced in the 1980s in the uk to promote the new release on high streets, empty shops etc. i certainly remember seeing these posters flyposted in city centres. i haven't seen many of them about and is sold with a full money back guarantee. should you be in any way disatisfied with it just return it and I will refund you in full.

condition: very slight wear in places across the poster. not the greatest quality poster but that was how they were made way back then.

condition: good. like all used cds the disc has a scratch but plays perfectly

phill brown was the engineer on talk talk's spirit of eden.

after working on talk talk's spirit of eden and laughing stock, phill brown teamed up with dave allinson (the shy reptiles, sonishta) to produce 1998's av 1, a stunning and subtle exercise in formless ambient tranquility. the album's message was obvious from the start, with a huge opening track of near-silence and 20 minutes of slow, single-note song evolution before it decided to throw out its first beat. piano, the most interesting track, featured talk talk's mark hollis hidden under the b-side-inspired pseudonym john cope and managed to be deliberate without being frustrating, unsettling but never futuristic, and, like much of the rest here, an enduringly eerie achievement ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide

talk talk frontman mark hollis took his sweet time in releasing his 1998 solo debut. then again, this is the man who said, "before you play two notes, learn how to play one note--and don't play one note unless you've got a reason to play it". that spirit of minimalism certainly informs mark hollis, a masterpiece of reflection and restraint.

mark hollis revisits the holy, haunted realm of laughing stock, talk talk's 1991 swan song. hollis's tremulous tenor sounds as fragile and self-contained as ever, his samuel beckett-like lyric fragments illuminating the deliberate spaces left in the sensitive arrangements. Each of these eight songs is a revelation. henry lowther's brassy, braying trumpet suddenly ripples the reflective watershed. woodwinds, harmonica, piano, guitar, and harmonium catch hollis' words within a tilting kaleidoscope of instrumental colour on a life (1895-1915) and a new jerusalem, much in the manner of morton feldman. the gift and the daily planet are moments of pure pop-jazzepiphany, swaying in elegant, unhurried rhythms. other highlights include the folky, dustbowl yearning of westward bound, and the pensive grace of inside looking out and the colour of spring.
