VITTORE CRIVELLI
- Known as: Venetian Painter
- Born: c. 1440, Venezia, Italy
- Date of death: c. 1501/2, Venezia
- Vittore Crivelli was the younger bother of the better knoown painter
Carlo. Around 1465, he left Venice and followed his
brother to Zara. He probaly worked in his brother's workshop and the brothers
may have colloborated on works. Four years later, Vittore took on a pupil and
bought a house in Zara.
He moved to the Marches in 1481 and then to Fermo where he spent much of his later life.
He died around 1501 and left a son, Giacomo Crivelli.
Works include: a polyptych for the church of S Martino at Montesanmartino (collaboration with
Carlo).
