MOVIE REVIEW

East End slice-of-life with Googie Withers sheltering her ex-lover, an escaped convict who suddenly turns up while the Sunday lunch is in the oven. By nightfall he is recaptured and she has tried to kill herself, but her faithful middle-aged husband stands by her. Hamer's direction is assured.
