Dulac's Illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales
Official release. This splendid collection of cards contains excellent reproductions of 24 of his most famous paintings...
In terms of presentation and quality of the reproductions, these are the best I've seen of his work. That's a personal opinion though as I prefer the gloss finish to the matt one. Others differ but to me they bring the works alive. You get a flavour of how it will look by looking at the Picasso postcard book I've scanned. Different cards obviously but exactly the same design. Here.
Magical, magical cards. I can't think of Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales without thinking of Dulac's Illustrations.
Official Blurb: From one of the great book illustrators of the early 20th century, 24 captivating illustrations for tales of Hans Christian Andersen, including "The Snow Queen," "The Nightingale," "The Real Princess," "The Mermaid," "The Garden of Paradise," "The Wind's Tale," and "The Emperor's New Clothes," all reproduced from the rare 1911 edition.
