1932 Comedy drama
|
Henry Kendall and Joan Barry star as the young married couple who spend an inheritance on a world cruise during which their relationship comes under strain, particularly when they become shipwrecked in the Far East.
The extensive location footage makes the film seem disconcertingly real at times. The stars are too sophisticated for their roles (although Joan Barry deserved to be seen after dubbing Anny Ondra's voice in Blackmail). Hitchcock's stylistic touches provide the main interest of the film today but even they are rather exaggerated for such slight subject matter.
