Jaclyn Smith – Actress, Entrepreneur & “Angel” for Life

Born: October 26, 1945, Houston, Texas, USA

From Model to Iconic Angel

Born Ellen Jaclyn Smith, she rose from modelling — after attending Trinity University and the University of San Antonio — to become a cover-girl and shampoo model in the early 1970s. Her big break came in 1976, when she was cast in a new TV pilot, Charlie’s Angels (1976). The show was an instant hit when it debuted on 22 September 1976, and Jaclyn was the only one of the original three Angels to stay for the show’s full five-season run (1976–1981).

Television, Movies & Personal Resilience

After Charlie’s Angels, Jaclyn built a busy career starring in made-for-TV movies — including the title roles in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (1982) and Florence Nightingale (1985) — and led the mystery series Christine Cromwell in 1989.

In July 2002 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing a lumpectomy and radiation. She has spoken candidly about the experience and emerged from it stronger — a testament to her resilience.

Business & Style Empire

Jaclyn was ahead of her time, branching out into business long before it was common for actresses to do so. In 1985 she launched a clothing line at K-Mart — a brand that would evolve into a successful lifestyle line including clothing, home décor, bedding, bath items and seasonal products.

She extended her empire in 2008 by launching a wig line, STYLE by Jaclyn Smith, in partnership with celebrity stylist José Eber.

In 2010, she and her husband Brad Allen developed a range of skincare products — merging celebrity branding and lifestyle wellness.

As of 2025, Jaclyn Smith remains a successful entrepreneur; her business acumen, combined with her status as a still-beloved TV icon, has helped her maintain relevance and visibility decades after her TV stardom.

Life & Family — Then and Now

Jaclyn has been married four times (to Roger Davis, Dennis Cole, Tony Richmond and now Brad Allen). With Richmond she has two children, and as of 2025 she’s a grandmother.

Jaclyn and Brad Allen have been married since 1997 — a marriage now nearly 30 years strong. In a 2025 interview she emphasised that their longevity comes from shared values, mutual respect, and lots of laughter and affection.

At 79 (80 in 2025) — Still Going Strong

As of late 2025, Jaclyn Smith is still active: she continues to oversee her business lines, maintains her personal brand, and shares glimpses of her life — including workouts and travels — with fans. Age has not dimmed her spirit: she still values family, remains approachable to fans, and is known for warmth, professionalism and resilience.

Legacy

Jaclyn Smith remains a rare example of someone who has successfully bridged entertainment, business and personal reinvention. From a TV star to a breast-cancer survivor, to a thriving entrepreneur and devoted wife, mother and grandmother — she has shown that talent, grit, and vision can evolve across decades. Her journey continues to inspire fans old and new.
