His most recent songs have been analysed, as well as the lyrics and Sylvian's way of life. Music is the goal of a path of self-realization, which brought Sylvian to conceive a new view of arrangement, increasingly deprived of its frills and capable of magnifying his voice, which that it is uncontainable. Sylvian shows everybody that silence may become an integral part of music towards nonsense, or the recovery of existential nudity.' There is something in it, in my opinion. Sylvian is a philosopher, a modern day one, within the confines of music, and certainly there is no recording artist out there with such a sheer depth to his work. He is so out there it's hard to keep up with him but his journey doen's embrace commercialism or fashion or anything convenient. It is naked and hard edged but it is a philsophy, a kind of meaning to the blanks in life. The one question I would ask anyone is this: if Sylvian didn't exist or the work didn't exist would music mean as much? Each individual would answer differently but to me it wouldn't. The world would be a different place.
