The updated version of the book is important as the years between the first edition, 1999 (released in anticipation of increased interest in the artist after the release of the 'comeback' album, Dead Bees on a Cake) and this one, 2004, are important years in Sylvian's career. They saw his split from Virgin after over 20 years and the setting up of his own record label, SamadhiSound.The book was never an authorised biography so you get a look at the life of Sylvian from a distance, as though you are at the window of Sylvian's world and are peering in.
