I've just scanned the boxset extensively as it never seems to be done. This is the most beautiful boxset ever and certainly the most influential. You can see elements of its design (by Russell Mills) in so many sets that came after.

I remember when this was made. Must have been around 1988. I was in Russell Mills' incredible studio in Vauxhall, South London, buying a painting and he showed me the prototype. Can't remember much abot it other than he was behind schedule and Virgin were screaming for it. Didn't realise then that what wAs about to be produced would be so groundbreaking.

1989 UK deluxe 5-CD box set spanning Sylvian's career and his many collaborations. Includes the releases: Brilliant Trees, Alchemy, Gone To Earth, Gone To Earth - Instrumental and Secrets Of The Beehive. Also includes a 60 page booklet which documents each release and all the musicians involved plus fold-out poster. The artwork and design is by Russell Mills and Dave Coppenhall with sliding lid on the top of the box.

Each CD has a different cover to the general release and each jewel case has embossed artwork on it - that is why it is so critical with this boxset that every jewel case is checked as you can't replace them with a standard one!
