Biography

Marie Déa in Orphée

Marie Déa, born Odette Deupès, was a French actress. Born May 17, 1912 in Nanterre, she died accidentally on March 1, 1992 following a fire in Paris.

Originally she studied law, but at some point started taking acting lessons and soon found herself with small roles...

Her early stand out role was in the film Personal Column in 1939 directed by Robert Siodmak and starring the two larger than life characters, Maurice Chevalier and Erich von Stroheim. Squeezing between those two heavyweights, she more than held her own.
