I love this book manly because of the little treasures found in the envelopes contained in the book (some of these facsimile memorabilia pieces are scanned below). By including these little trinkets, to me it makes it more than a book. It brings it alive - each little piece gives you a feel for the times the original was made, when it came out: the tickets give you a pass into the past of Pink Floyd.

The mixed reviews from Pink Floyd fans has come, it seems, from the words written by Glenn Povey. It cannot be denied you don't learn anything new from the band and as he is an authority on the band I don't know why he didn't make it more readable.

But I for one think the beauty of it vsually more than compensates for Mr. Povey's disappointing effort.

Glenn Povey founded the highly regarded Pink Floyd fanzine Brain Damage and was its editor from 1985 to 1993. He co-wrote Pink Floyd In The Flesh: The Complete Performance History, and authored Echoes, which superseded it as the number one authority on the history of the band. He has written extensively about the band for Mojo, Record Collector, Classic Rock and other music magazines. He works in artist management and tour production in the music industry and lives in Hertfordshire, England.
