Issued in a gatefold sleeve with printed inners. LP 1 first issued 2002 on the bonus CD Camphor. This was remixed by Sylvian for this release. The original versions of these tracks were released on Plight & Premonition. LP 2 first issued 1989 on Flux + Mutability. This release is announced as being remastered, but has no credit for on it. Track durations do not appear on the release. With new, previously unseen, photographs by Yuka Fujii, accompanied by an extensive essay by David Toop.

Probably the most underrated ambient albums ... ever! At last they are re-released for a whole new world to find them...

Plight & Premonition is my favourite, particularly Plight with Czukay's hands all over it. Swirling, troubling ... it's as atmospheric as atmospheric gets. An ancient ex-Koln cinema, for that was where it was born, in Czukay's studio; cold winds and Cold Wars, distant whispers of foreign radios, foreign lands, foreboding and of another life, another time. Beyondness, beyond this life ... it takes you to that 'other place', beyond our comprehension. A neverending woodland just beyond the city where the life beyond this life never finishes.

Flux + Mutability is a quieter affair, more melodic I guess, more poetic. Ethereal and delicate.

Both releases encourage multiple listens for you find more and more from them each time you listen. Well I did.
