One of the most iconic images from the history of photography let alone music photography. Instantably recognisable wherever you are in the world. Ask yourself: is there a photo in music history that captures a time, a moment, where the viewer instantly knows what it is and what it is about? I can't think of any. Moreover, it's up there with that Che photo - in other words, it is bigger than the world!

Much (though not all) of below is sourced from the 1983 Summer Issue of The Official International Queen Fan Club. You can find so much more in the actual edition with many photos I haven't seen before and should check online to get a copy. The Club is still going and you can easily find it online. It is the ultimate fan club and anyone with a passing interest in the history of Queen should join.
Random Trivia
The Tube recorded the Milton Keynes gig in 1982. It had its American premiere on 20th August 83 on MTV Coast to Coast.
Roger Taylor went to the Monaco Grand Prix in 1983 with Rick Parfitt. Their host for the weekend was Ted Tolman of Tolman Cars.

Brian May was born in Twickenham, Middlesex on 19th July, 1947.
Brian May's father was an electronics engineer working on secret miltary projects for the Ministry of Defence.
Eric Clapton once said: "There are people who can do things on the guitar which are beyond my reach...There's one guy who plays with Queen who can do things I would dream of doing. I sincerely mean that."
Bohemian Rhapsody was number one for nine weeks in the UK on the BBC chart, the longest run at the top in twenty years. It was one of Billboards's top twenty hits of the entire year 1976.
They once supported Mott the Hoople at the Hammersmith Odean.
In 1978, News of the World went gold in Germany.
Their first ever open air festival in Germany was on the 18th August 1979, in front of 30,000 people at the football stadium in Saarbrucken.
Brian once had a cat called Squeaky.
Lord Snowden's photograph of Queen was used for the book Queen's Greatest Pics
The photographer Neil Preston, toured with the group from 1977.
Brian played on Diggin' My Potatoes on the Lonnie Donegan album in 1980.
The single Keep Yourself Alive was first released in the UK on the 6th July 1973.
Mustapha was a European only release (1979).
We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions single was Elektra/Asylum's first two million seller in the US.
Another One Bites The Dust sold over three million copies in the US, becoming the best selling single of 1980 there.
Early influences for Brian May included Lonnie Donnegan, Tommy Steele, James Burton and The Shadows.
