It was announced of her passing today, 10th Sept. 2020 at the age of 82. She was only seen on Tuesday on UK TV screens on Channel 5, appearing in the 2nd episode of the delightful remake of All Creatures Great and Small. A kind of homecoming for her, I guess. She appears in 2 episodes of the new series so look out for her again. No doubt a huge ratings winner for the new Channel 4, Channel 5. The new BBC & ITV come to think of it - the amount of watchable TV they're currently broadcasting. The Deceived, Chris Tarrant's various Extreme Railways, Our Yorkshire Farm, The Yorkshire Vet and now this.

Back to Dame Diana Rigg. The usual suspects will tell you what a great actress she was but for me, looking just as a viewer, she had such a strong presence in anything she was in. Star quality, I guess, but you knew you'd been RIGGED as soon as you saw her. Similar, for me, to a Brando or Garbo - strong personalities that filled the screen.

She had a presence that set her even higher than the other great British actors of her generation like Judi Dench, Vanessa Redgrave or even Glenda Jackson. There was an air of, I don't know, disdain with just a glance putting down even the most accomplished of actors. She was obviously vastly inteeligent, a cut above you and I.

She will be missed.
