Description:
New York model, news photographer, friend to Pablo Picasso and Jean Cocteau, Lee Miller had a fascinating life story. Through a succession of seven key photographs, viewers follow her as she models, takes up photography, works for Vogue as a news photographer, and accompanies the American army as a war correspondent from the Normandy landings to the end of World War II. Son Antony Penrose and photographer David Scherman add their insights about this remarkable woman and the air of mystery that surrounded her life. Included in the program is an excerpt from Cocteau's film, Blood of a Poet, in which Miller had a minor role.
