Prayers For Bobby
D R A M A

2009. US. Colour. PG.

What on earth is Sigourney Weaver doing in TV movie territory-land? I mean she is one of the great actresses of the last 30 years or so and should be home nowhere near a TV let alone a TV movie. It's fair to say this film doesn't remotely do her justice.

All the themes here - homosexuality, faith, prejudice and suicide - are handled miserably. In fact they are not handled at all in any way that would be considered satisfactory let alone skillfully. To top it all, Weaver is hopelessly miscast.

Avoid.
