John Mills We are based in South London near Croydon, UK, and if preferred this item can be picked up by appointment. Just e-mail here. I also prefer the old fashioned cheque, po or bank transfer as it is cheaper to process and all orders are sent off same day as cheque received. Mr Polly (Sir John Mills) is a sensitive soul. Sacked from his job for daydreaming he despairs of ever finding another job when his father’s death suddenly brings him a large inheritance, and with it he embarks on a cycling adventure. Along his travels he meets and falls desperately in love with a young girl, but the relationship turns sour when her friends hear of it. Spurned, he hastily marries his cousin, Miriam (Betty Ann Davies – The Belles of St. Trinians), and settles in a sleepy town where he opens a draper’s shop. But his beliefs are eroded when fifteen years on bad debt and his floundering marriage bring him to a personal crossroads where he must make some major decisions. Screen legend and Academy award-winner John Mills (Ice Cold in Alex, Ryan's Daughter) both stars in and produces this tale of despair and hope from the fertile mind of one of the greatest British writers of nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Scripted and directed by Anthony Pelissier, this refreshing and charming film also features a sumptuous score by William Alwyn (Odd Man Out, The Fallen Idol). Dec. 16: back in stock. 'Used - good'. 1 in stock.

The old fashioned ways of paying are a bit more of a hassle for you but mean I can offer this item for the lowest price I possibly can. Card payments are very expensive so I prefer the old fashioned methods of payment. And let's face it, the good old fashioned cheque - well nothing is more secure than that. |
