  • Sir Ernest Pease KBE FRS (James Robertson Justice) is a cantankerous and crotchety old professor. Testing one of his new radar inventions (and travelling incognito as Lt. Farrow, RN) the plane he is travelling is shot down and he is incarcerated as a POW. His overbearing and abrasive manner leads his fellow inmates into believing he is a german spy, but when they discover who he actually is they realise that his escape is vital to the war effort.

    Written by Henry Blyth (THE BULLDOG BREED) and Jack Davies (THOS MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES), VERY IMPORTANT PERSON is a classic comedy in the Rank and Ealing mould, starring Leslie Phillips, Eric Sykes and Stanley Baxter, with a suitably commanding performance from James Roberston Justice as the acerbic professor. Comedy support is ably supplied by Richard Wattis, John Le Mesurier, Norman Bird and Jeremy Lloyd.

    This comedy film will appeal to people who enjoy classic British comedy films (especially war ones), sit-coms and Carry-On style shenanigans.
