In the London of the swinging 60's a reclusive professor becomes infatuated with a beautiful model Penny Lane (Jane Birkin), the girlfriend of a Svengali like fashion photographer (Iain Quarrier). The professor embarks on a noble quest to become her champion.

To rescue Penny he enters a magical realm of the Wonderwall, and returns to his laboratory a transformed man.

The kaleidoscope of images and George Harrison's musical soundtrack catapult the world into a lost world of innocence, where love and laughter reign supreme.

The re-edited director's cut of WONDERWALL: the movie on DVD, featuring the re-mastered George Harrison soundtrack in Surround Sound and the John Lennon poem, plus Reflections On Love short with new soundtrack by Kula Shaker.

WONDERWALL: the book tells the tale of how the film came about. How George Harrison produced the soundtrack, how Jane Birkin, Jack MacGowran and Iain Quarrier became involved, and how the vibrancy of the movie's Dutch designers, The Fool, gave the film its unique look.

Released for a short time in 1998, designed and produced by Tuch Design, this special collector's edition of director Joe Massot's 1968 psychedelic film, soundtracked by George Harrison, is an awesome and now mega rare find. Contained in a box illustrated by Marijke of 60s art co-op The Fool are dvds, a cd and 7" single, reproduction film poster and two books. One is a black and white screen play of the movie, the other is a 120 page fully illustrated story of the creation, rediscovery and restoration of the film and soundtrack, a story involving the Beatles, Jane Birkin, Warren Beaty, Irene Handel and Charles Manson... Joe could tell a good tale.

Two limited editions were produced in the UK, for domestic market and for export to US. This is the UK release. Box extensively scanned below.

2016: This item has sold (well I only ever had a few so that sounds rather grander than reality) and it's getting really hard to find. I have to say that in terms of the packaging it is the most beautiful I've seen. And the George Harrison/Kula Shaker link is irresistible (are Kula Shaker not the most underrated band of all time?).
