biography 1888
Born as Mihali Kertesz on December 24 in Budapest.
1913 After a six-month internship at the Nordisk Studios inCopenhagen, returned to Budapest and made nearly 40films (almost all of which have been lost).
1919 When a soviet republic was declared in Hungary, he fledthe country and began directing films in Austria andGermany, such as:
1924 the monumental opus, Moon of Israel. America began totake notice.
1926 Brought to Hollywood by Warner Brothers. Over thenext decades, Curtiz would make more than 100movies for this studio, including the world-renowned Errol Flynn adventures.

1954 Curtiz left Warner Brothers and began to work forother studios, directing such films as:
