- Born in Manila, Philippines on July 3rd 1949, Penhaligon was for a brief time in the mid-1970s UK-tv's brightest star.
- Though her role in the 1976 drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire afforded her cult status, her subsequent career never reached the heights anticipated.

She still pops up on UK-tv screens with guest roles in middle-of-the-road dramas such as "A Touch of Frost (2002) and Casualty (2003).
